Dr. Karen Weldon, Medical Director of Total Health and Rejuvenation of Birmingham and owner of BodyLogicMD of Birmingham, dedicates her practice to integrative medicine, with a concentration in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Along with balancing hormones, Dr. Weldon creates customized nutrition and fitness programs that can help women and men suffering from the unpleasant symptoms of hormone imbalance and aging. These symptoms can range from weight gain and sexual dysfunction to declining energy levels and high stress, stemming from menopause and andropause, adrenal fatigue, and even thyroid disorders.
Dr. Weldon was trained as an OB/GYN and decided to transition into functional medicine so that she could spend more time with patients and resolve their underlying health issues with a preventive approach, rather than merely treating symptoms.

With more than 16 years of experience as a highly regarded Nurse Practitioner, Patricia made the transition into integrative and preventive medicine to help both men and women overcome common challenges associated with hormone imbalance including menopause, andropause, memory issues, adrenal fatigue, low libido and weight gain.
Patricia’s passion for medicine stems from a young age and a personal journey. At the young age of nine years old, Patricia’s grandfather passed away from a massive heart attack while standing next to her, which sparked her interest in medicine, disease prevention, and caring for others. Later in life, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and learned the probable cause of her cancer onset was due to issues that most likely could have been prevented by using integrative techniques, such as natural hormone therapy and nutrient replacement. Her diagnosis and self-discovery during that time lead Patricia to switch from conventional medicine to integrative and preventive medicine methods.
Using bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, nutritional and fitness guidance, stress reduction techniques and targeted supplementation, Patricia goal is the optimize the health and well-being of her patients, guiding each person to overcome health challenges and prevent disease.
Patricia completed her nursing degree in 1978 at Samford University in Homewood, Alabama, and went on to receive her Nurse Practitioner certification at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 1980. In 1998, she earned her Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) at UAB. Before joining Total Health and Rejuvenation of Birmingham, Patricia served as a Public Speaker specializing in women’s health care.

The 3 pm slump would hit me like a ton of bricks every day - regardless of how well I slept the night before. My libido was pretty much zilch, and I had been severely moody. Worst of all (but don't tell my husband the non-existent libido wasn't the worst), I wasn't able to lose weight to save my life. After...Read More
